(Springfield Twp., OH) Springfield Township residents are the latest to squawk at their school district for a decision to challenge the property values of certain homeowners.
Angry taxpayers demanded the school board stop the practice, after more than 100 people got letters from the Lucas County auditor putting them on the defensive. Now some are threatening to oppose future property tax levies and vote out members of the board of education.
A similar protest happened in Sylvania schools earlier this year, leading that school board to stop doing it. The county auditor has asked school districts to wait until next year, when properties will be revalued.
