First Energy Sends More Power Workers to Florida

(Toledo, OH) Around 600 employees and contractors from First Energy in Cleveland are among the reinforcements heading to Florida to help in the recovery after Hurricane Irma.

Those workers left Thursday and are expected in Florida later today.  They will be joining around 900 First Energy employees and contractors already in the Sarasota area.  Those employees and contractors left earlier this week and had to wait out the storm in Tennessee.

The crews will be working to set poles, hang transformers, fix transmission facilities and string new wires together until the entire Sunshine State has power.

Ohio Edison and other companies across northern Ohio are also sending in workers to help in the recovery process.
