(Bowling Green, OH) A state task force on the opioid epidemic hosts its first public roundtable discussion later today in Bowling Green.
Napoleon Republican state rep Robert Sprague chairs the Ohio House task force, which is seeking best practices across the state on how communities handling addiction to heroin, prescription pain pills, and other opiates. Sprague calls the opiate addiction epidemic Ohio’s “most pressing public health challenge.”
The task force hopes to develop new statewide policy ideas, as the number of overdose deaths worsens in Ohio. More than 4,000 Ohioans died from a drug overdose last year.
The hour-long public roundtable takes place at 1 p.m. in the new BCI lab building at Bowling Green State University.
