NW Ohio Lineworkers Help Restore Florida Power

(Toledo, OH) Northwest Ohio has even more power crews working in Florida.

With millions of people without power, First Energy sent 900 and AEP Ohio shipped off 700 utility workers to help.

Now the hurricane-ravaged state is calling on even more assistance from regional and even municipal electrical systems in Ohio.

A team of more than 20 Bryan Municipal Utilities and other lineworkers arrived in Florida Monday to begin a ten-day assignment helping with power restoration following Hurricane Irma. Six other local utilities from Northwest Ohio are joining that effort in Tallahassee. The crews will work 16 hours per day helping to restore power.

A dozen linemen and electricians from Dayton Power and Light also were deployed Monday to help with around-the-clock repairs in other parts of the state.
