(Maumee, OH) The latest layoffs at The Andersons are supposed to start today.
According to a WARN Act notice sent to state regulators, The Andersons will start laying off nearly 30 employees at its mower center in Maumee over the next two weeks.
The Andersons sold the entire Maumee retail complex over the summer after the family-owned agribusiness eliminated its general stores across Ohio. The owner of a Perrysburg sunroom building is among investors who purchased the entire property with the hope of finding new retailers to fill the empty buildings at the corner of Ford and Illinois.
The new owner had considered a showroom for his sunrooms, but decided the property had more value as a retail complex, although details on its future are not yet known.
