Opiate Fight Funding Coming to NW Ohio

(Columbus, OH) More state funding is coming to Northwest Ohio to help fight the opioid epidemic.

Ohio's Attorney General has awarded $100,000 grants to the Wood County prosecutor, Ottawa County drug task force, and Findlay police department to establish either quick-strike teams or Drug Abuse Response Teams. T

he units would visit the homes of recent overdose victims to connect them with treatment services.

The DART teams are modeled after an approach started by Lucas County's sheriff to get overdose victims an array of treatment instead of sending them to jail. The new teams are expected to be running by the end of the year.
