HOPES Task Force to Meet at BGSU

(Bowling Green, OH) A statewide task force on opioid addiction will hold its first roundtable next week in Northwest Ohio.

Findlay Republican state rep Robert Sprague is chairing a task force appointed by Ohio's House speaker known as HOPES-- or Heroin, Opioids, Prevention, Education, and Safety. The group will travel around the state to hear from other officials and the public to get feedback and new policy ideas on how to address the opioid addiction crisis in Ohio.

The first such roundtable is set for next Thursday afternoon at the new Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) Building on the campus of Bowling Green State University.

The work of that task force comes as Sprague warns of another drug battle-- by investors who want to legalize both recreational and medicinal marijuana and create a monopoly. But GOP legislative leaders plan a joint resolution to stop that effort.
