(Toledo, OH) A Toledo to Texas trip for hurricane help may come later today.
Eight Toledo firefighter-paramedics from the Toledo fire department's special operations bureau are packed and waiting on the call, specially-trained teams in areas such as hazadous materials, confined-space rescue, structural collapse, high-angle rope rescue, dive teams, and surface water rescue.
Toledo's fire chief is working with state emergency management officials on the official go-ahead, getting proper clearances for the team's departure.
Once the call comes, it's a 20-hour trek to Texas-- hauling two rescue boats and emergency equipment to Houston.
