(Toledo, OH) Lucas County commissioners won't be among their Ohio colleagues at the White House.
80 county commissioners from across the Buckeye State RSVP'ed to a presidential invitation to better local-federal government relations.
But all three Democratic commissioners from Lucas County turned down the invite, saying today is their regular meeting day and the White House briefing is not a priority. The day in Washington will start with a greeting by presidential advisor Kellyann Conway and a briefing by the agriculture secretary.
Various federal agencies also will give presentations as part of a series of meetings the Trump administration has sponsored in to strengthen its local connections and to build relationships. More than half of Ohio's counties will be represented at the gathering.
