(Toledo, OH) Could the iconic, Toledo-made Jeep Wrangler-- the most American-made car-- soon become Chinese?
Fiat Chrysler officials aren't commenting on reports several Chinese companies could be looking at buying the automaker. Automotive News reports there are four companies who are potential buyers, and Auto Pacific analyst Dave Sullivan tells the "Detroit Free Press" Chinese companies are the only ones with enough cash to make such a deal.
Fiat Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne is planning to retire in two years, leaving the future for the company a bit up in the air.
The speculation comes just as production is about to ramp up on a redesigned, next-generation, Jeep Wrangler.
