(Toledo, OH) One of Toledo's busiest intersections is about to get a new restaurant chain.
A Detroit developer is asking the plan commission today to approve site plans for a new Twin Peaks restaurant along Monroe Street near Talmadge Road, directly across from the Franklin Park mall. The site used to house a Lone Star steakhouse that has since been demolished and a now-vacant Pizza Hut.
Twin Peaks has no affiliation to the popular former TV series-- but has been derisively dubbed a "breastaurant," featuring servers in skimpy, cleavage-bearing outfits to rival Hooters, which is already located just down Monroe Street.
The restaurant chain was founded just over a decade ago. Toledo's Twin Peaks will be owned by a family restaurant group with the rights to open other franchises across Northwest Ohio.
