Norovirus Outbreak Getting Worse at Maumee Eatery

(Maumee, OH) The norovirus outbreak linked to a Maumee restaurant continues to spread. 

Lucas County health officials now say there are nearly 200 cases of the nasty stomach bug and that number is expected to rise.  The illnesses were tied to Mama C's Donuts and Coffee on Conant Street. 

Reports indicate the outbreak may be affecting people who bought donuts between last Friday and Monday. Norovirus is common to cruise ships and other close quarters, with symptoms that include nausea, vomiting, diarrjea. stomach pain, and fever. 

The business has been closed since Tuesday for cleaning after samples from the kitchen tested positive for norovirus.
