Ohio Tops in Student Loan Debt Survey

(Columbus, OH) Ohio ranks worst in the nation when it comes to student debt.

A study released this week by personal financial website WalletHub looked at ten measures and determined Buckeye State students have the worst situation in the country. Ohio ranked third overall in indebtedness and 20th in "grant and student work opportunities."

But the Buckeye state also has the 10th highest average student debt at over $30,000 per student, and two-thirds of students currently have student loan debt.

The WalletHub survey also shows eight percent of Ohio residents ages 50 or older still have student loan debt, making it one of the highest numbers in the country.
