(Willard, OH) A Huron County family is preparing to say goodbye to a husband, father and undocumented immigrant.
37-year old Jesus Lara Lopez of Willard is being deported despite having no criminal record, holding a job and paying taxes in the U.S. for 16 years.
The father of four American citizen children came to the U.S. as a migrant farm worker, picking fruits and vegetables, and now works at a Pepperidge Farms food packaging plant.
Lopez's family, faith leaders and legal team fought to keep him in the U.S., even collecting 35-thousand signatures on a petition to keep his family intact. But he'll board a plane later today with a one-way ticket to his native Mexico.
