Denial Issued Against UPS In Discrimination Case

(Toledo, OH) An appeal by United Parcel Service regarding a ruling that the company likely discriminated against employees at the UPS distribution center in Maumee is being denied.

The Ohio Civil Rights Commission shot down a request from UPS to reconsider the case Thursday.

More than 20 employees filed complaints against UPS, claiming there were dozens of incidents going back to at least 2013 including an instance where a noose was hung at the center.

UPS officials say they weren't given a chance to respond adequately to the accusations, a charge the commission says is not true.
