(Toledo, OH) A TARTA sales tax proposal clears another hurdle toward the November ballot.
Lucas County commissioners voted Tuesday in favor of the sales tax proposal. Transit agency officials say the tax would eliminate the current property tax levy.
But Toledo and TARTA’s suburban and township members must first approve the new funding mechanism. Funds raised by the sales tax would give TARTA $30 million per year to expand service and return some of the money to member communities to improve roads.
