New Teaching Kitchen Unveiled in Downtown Toledo

(Toledo, OH) Cherry Street Mission Ministries unveils its latest effort to help the homeless today.

The celebration starts with free pancakes for the public today until 3 p.m. at the Life Revitalization Center's new teaching kitchen. A new logo and kitchen name will be unveiled at a 10 a.m. ceremony at the former Macomber High School in downtown Toledo.

The kitchen is aimed at helping to end hunger and poverty in the central city. The kitchen is being shared with Connecting Kids to Meals, which provides summer feeding sites for kids at 125 locations across Northwest Ohio.

Eligible homeless men and women also will be taught culinary skills to join the hospitality industry and support themselves.
