Lucas County Canine Control Offering Adoption Special

TOLEDO, Ohio - Lucas County Canine Control is making it easier for you to reunite with your runaway dog over the July 4th holiday.

During the fireworks and festivities, dogs often get startles and become separated from their owners. To help reunite dogs that get lost this holiday, Lucas County Canine Care & Control is waiving many fees for owners reclaiming their dogs. All stray dogs that come in between Saturday July 1st, and Sunday July 9th, and have a current Lucas County dog license will go home without a reclamation fee.

Canine Care & Control is also running an adoption special for the month of July. All adoptable dogs will have a reduced adoption fee of $25, in addition to the purchase of a 2017 Lucas County Dog License for an additional $25. Adoption fees include spay/neuter, a registered microchip, age appropriate vaccines, heartworm testing and prevention, and any treatment for internal or external parasites.

The special will run the entire month of July.
