Evegreen HS to Get Synthetic Turf Field

(Metamora, OH) Evergreen High School's soccer and football teams will take to a brand-new field once school starts this fall.

The Evergreen school board this week approved spending nearly 700-thousand dollars on a new synthetic turf field. Maumee Bay Turf Center believes it can have the new field installed by August first, just in time for the beginning of two-a-day football practices.

Evergreen added girls varsity soccer for the first time last fall.

Evergreen parents likely won't complain about the expense of the new turf, because the board of education also voted to cut the current school income tax in half on the November ballot.
