(Toledo, OH) Toledo residents are being asked to help city crews clean up overgrown properties.
City officials are offering to pay anyone who mows grass at abandoned homes on a per-yard basis. The city says the trial program could help crews with an overwhelming number of cleanup projects. Code enforcement director Cindy Geronimo admits the city has a backlog of 7,000-plus properties to mow.
Residents who have their own transportation and mower can contact Toledo's department of neighborhoods for more information.
