(Bowling Green, OH) Bowling Green residents will now face a monthly trash fee.
The trash fee was decided as the best option, as Bowling Green city council wrestles with a budget deficit of more than $627,000.
City council approved the fee during a meeting last night to discuss three possible options to balance the 2017 spending plan. The shortfall is being blamed on a number of factors, including fewer share funds from the state and low interest rates.
The monthly trash fee totaling about 150 dollars per household annually would start in January.
