Clay's Attorney Asks For New Verdict

(Monroe, MI) The man convicted of killing Chelsea Bruck wants a judge to overrule the jury in his trial.

Daniel Clay's attorney filed a motion Wednesday for a new verdict, or a new trial altogether. The motion claims the Monroe County jury incorrectly assumed Clay sexually assaulted Bruck before he killed her two years ago.

At issue is DNA evidence collected from an unrelated case that linked Clay to the murder. Prosecutors say Clay had a fair trial and the jury's decision reflects their belief.
