Lead Provision Removed From State Budget

COLUMBUS, Ohio - A provision that would have changed the City of Toledo's ability to enforce its lead law has been removed from the state budget.

WTOL 11 reports the amendment would have moved the responsibility for lead regulations to the Ohio Department of Health. It would have removed the city's ability to enforce its Lead Safe Law.

Opponents said the provision violated the city's right to home rule.
