Girl Who Killed Brother Won't Be Tried As Adult

TOLEDO, Ohio - A judge has ruled that a 14 year-old girl who shot and killed her brother will not be tried as an adult.

WTOL 11 reports Tyanna Thomas will be kept in the juvenile system. She told police she shot and killed her older brother last December after an argument.

Thomas will remain in the juvenile system for the next seven years. Prosecutors have asked that Thomas' case be moved over to the adult system if she has problems in the juvenile system.
