(Sylvania, OH) The Sylvania school board has a crucial vote tonight on redistricting.
After putting off a vote last month to tweak the plan further based on parent input, the Sylvania board of education is expected to approve the redistricting plan put together by a citizens panel.
The incoming superintendent who led the effort says nine percent of elementary students and 12 percent of junior high students would change schools under the plan, but some kids can be grandfathered and kept at their current school if parents provide transportation.
The plan to balance student population at various schools due to shifting population will take effect during the 2018-19 academic year.
