Dayton-Area Lawmaker Proposes Changes To Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation

COLUMBUS, Ohio - Reforms to the Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation are at the heart of a new bill soon to be introduced by a Dayton-area lawmaker.

Safety audits and wage-replacement benefits are two things which would be overhauled under a bill being introduced by State Representative Michael Henne (R-Clayton).

"It's very important that the injured worker gets the proper care as soon as possible. Nothing reduced a claim better than getting quick, appropriate care," Henne said Thursday at the Statehouse.

He's also recommending renaming the Bureau of Workers' Comp to the Ohio Office of Employee Safety and Rehabilitation. Henne says that more accurately reflects what the bureau does.
