Lead Ordinance to Be Discussed at Hearing

(Toledo, OH) A home rule dispute between Toledo and state lawmakers may come to a head later today.

Toledo city council will hold a public hearing this afternoon on the city's controversial lead safe ordinance. City council will receive an update on recent evictions, progress on certifying lead inspectors, and an ongoing dispute between Toledo's mayor and state efforts to overtake lead issues in homes.

Two Toledo city council members asked the state to drop its efforts during public testimony Wednesday at the Ohio Statehouse. That hearing starts at 4 p.m. at One Government Center.
