Toledo City Council Delays Pay Raise Vote

(Toledo, OH) Toledo City Council won't decide on its own pay raises until after Memorial Day.

City council members delayed a vote Tuesday evening on the controversial issue, which has prompted Toledo's mayor to issue a veto threat, citing budget problems.

The pay raise issue would take a super-majority of nine votes to overturn a veto. City council is facing a June first deadline to act on the recommendations of a salary review commission.
