(Bowling Green, OH) A Bowling Green native will be featured in a summer blockbuster as one of the film's best-known characters.
According to a Facebook post, Anthony De La Torre plays a young Jack Sparrow in the fifth installment in the Pirates of the Caribbean film franchise. De La Torre plays alongside the actor who made the role famous, Johnny Depp. "Dead Men Tell No Tales" opens Memorial Day weekend.
Pirates of the Caribbean directors went to great lengths to keep De La Torre’s role in the film secret-- but he posted a photo of himself as a young Jack Sparrow on Facebook.
De La Torre also plays in a hard-rock band bearing his name and will star in another upcoming film-- Johnny Grueseome-- rebellious high school senior who returns from the grave after he’s murdered on a drunken joy ride.
