(Toledo, OH) The Toledo Federation of Teachers and TPS top brass reached a tentative agreement on a new three-year contract, but no one's releasing any details yet.
Both sides will vote before any specifics will be made public. But the superintendent did say in a written statement the proposal calls for a Labor-Management Committee to be formed to review a number of academic and classroom issues.
A one-year agreement is set to expire this summer. That agreement gave raises and a cash payout that cost taxpayers nearly nine million dollars. The teacher's union has 2,600 members who could be the beneficiary of a compensation study promised during the last contract negotiations.
The TFT has long argued its educators are paid a lot less than the state and national average.
