(Monroe, MI) The suspect in the murder of Chelsea Bruck will go on trial today.
Opening statements in the Daniel Clay murder trial are scheduled this morning after a jury was seated Monday. Monroe County prosecutors say the 28-year old defendant beat Bruck to death after a Halloween party in 2014 and left her body in a field.
Clay told investigators the woman's death was an accident, because he was choking her during rough sex.
Clay is charged with rape in a separate case.The case may take more than two weeks with 60 prosecution witnesses, forensic evidence, and more than two dozen people set to take the stand for the defense.
