TOLEDO, Ohio - Another hat has been tossed into the ring for Toledo's mayoral election.
Lucas County Treasurer Wade Kapszukiewicz announced Tuesday that he is running for mayor. At a press conference at the Anthony Wayne Solar Field, Kapszukiewicz said he wants to tackle the issues that have been holding the city back.
“For too long, Toledo’s government has been stuck in the past and unable to change to deal with the new challenges we face,” Kapszukiewicz said. “If our city leaders can’t figure out how to fix our city streets, or guarantee safe drinking water and strong neighborhoods, how will they lead us to a better future?”
Kapszukiewicz joins Councilman Tom Wainewski and Mayor Paula Hicks-Hudson in the race. He told WSPD's Scott Sands why he's entering the race and the issues he plans on focusing on.
