(Cleveland, OH) Environmental groups are taking the EPA to court, accusing the agency of dragging its feet on Lake Erie cleanup efforts.
The coalition of environmentalists from Ohio and Michigan filed the lawsuit Tuesday, asking a judge to declare the lake "impaired."
The designation would force state and federal agencies to create a plan to improve water quality. Environmentalists are trying to fight off possible closure of the federal EPA regional office in Chicago and proposed budget cuts by the Trump administration.
