(Toledo, OH) Toledo City Council will hold its first discussions later today on possibly approving raises for itself and the mayor.
The Toledo Salary Review Commission has recommended hiking the mayor’s salary to $136,000 annually.
Council members could decide between two possible salary increases for themselves-- one $3,000 per year, the other is $11,000 annually. Council members currently earn $28,500 per year.
Those pay hikes would take effect early next year, but could be a political hot potato for at-large council members up for re-election. Council will talk over those pay proposals at a 2 p.m. agenda review meeting.
