Deadly Arson Trial To Begin

(Toledo, OH) The trial of a man accused of killing two Toledo firefighters gets underway this week.

Jury selection is scheduled to begin today in the case of Ray Abou-Arab.  The retired Jeep worker is charged with aggravated murder, aggravated arson and tampering with evidence. Prosecutors say Abou-Arab torched a Magnolia Street building in 2014, killing firefighters Jamie Dickman and Stephen Machcinski 

 That fire also injured three firefighters and three others. The case is going to trial more than three years after the fire after a host of motions to dismiss charges, review evidence and drop the death penalty. Jury selection is expected to take at least two days, with opening arguments expected Wednesday.
