Illegal Immigrant Faces 30 Years for Fatal Crash

(Jerusalem Twp., Ohio) An accused drunk driver could get 30 years in prison-- and deported. 

An undocumented immigrant from North Carolina accused of driving drunk and causing a crash that killed an Oak Harbor teacher and her parents pleaded not guilty Thursday to seven felony charges. 

26-year old Alejandro Ramirez-Jaramillo is facing six counts of aggravated vehicular homicide for last month's crash in Jerusalem Township that killed third grade teacher Whitney Meinke  and both of her parents. The indictment also accuses Ramirez-Jaramillo of fleeing the scene. 

The Mexican national has admitted to Border Patrol agents that he's in the U.S. illegally and a detainer is placed on him to be sent home at the conclusion of his court case. Bond is set at just under $1 million.
