TOLEDO, Ohio - IBF World Lightweight Champion Robert Easter Jr. will make his second defense of his title this summer.
The Ring Magazine reports that Easter Jr. and mandatory challenger Denis Shafikov have agreed to face off on June 30 in Toledo. The fight is slated to take place at the Huntington Center.
Easter Jr. (19-0, 14 KO) made his first defense of the title in February at the Huntington Center, a unanimous decision victory over top challenger Luis Cruz.
Shafikov (38-2-1, 17 KO) of Russia is currently rated #4 in world in The Ring magazine's lightweight rankings. Easter Jr. is rated #3.
Television rights for the fights are still being negotiated.
