Mud Hens To Play Home Opener

(Toledo, OH) Thousands of people are expected to flood downtown Toledo today for the Mud Hens' home opener.

Downtown Toledo traditionally shuts down for the day during the Hens home opener. But this year’s opening day doubles as the start of a long Easter holiday weekend. Mud Hens officials are encouraging people to play hookie, by attending an Opening Day block party and a craft brew tasting party before the first pitch.  Hensville will open at 9 a.m. with tailgate parties and live entertainment.

The block party music starts at noon, Fifth Third Field gates open at 3 p.m., and the first pitch against the Indianapolis Indians occurs at 4 p.m. Tickets are still available.
