(Metamora, OH) Spring sports teams from across Northwest Ohio have shown love and support to Evergreen student-athletes in a number of ways following the car crash death of popular Viking athletic director Tim Rupp.
Oak Harbor athletes wore Evergreen's school colors-- green and gold-- in memory of Rupp and Archbold high school tweeted a message of condolence.
Swanton and Wauseon baseball players observed a moment of silence before taking the field. Bryan softball players prayed with their Viking counterparts at the pitchers mound during a game this week.
Swanton softball players painted a spirit rock outside their school in Evergreen school colors with a heart and the athletic director's nickname: "TJ."
Evergreen students have worn different colors every day to show their love of the 30-year old father, who leaves behind a young son and pregnant wife. Classes are canceled Thursday so Evergreen students can attend visitation and funeral services for Rupp at Wauseon High School.
