Councilman Tom Wainewski Announces Mayoral Campaign

TOLEDO, Ohio - Councilman Tom Wainewski has thrown his hat in the ring to become Toledo's next mayor.

At a campaign kick-off event Wednesday, Wainewski laid out his vision for the city. He said he would immediately stop the transfer of money from the capital improvement fund to cover operation costs.

“Immediately upon my election, I will stop transferring all money from the Capital Improvements Program (CIP) and restore the necessary infrastructure repairs as a basic service to taxpayers,” Waniewski said.

Wainewski also pledged to sign on to a regional water authority and to focus on making infrastructure repairs.
