Public Meeting Tonight for Proposed Power Plant

(Oregon, OH) The company that plans to build a second power plant in Oregon will host a community meeting tonight.

Clean Energy Future LLC plans to begin work on that second natural gas-fired plant in 2018. A similar plant is currently under construction and is expected to open next month.

The second plant is expected to come online in 2020, about the same time First Energy plans to completely close the nearby Bayshore power plant.

Combined, both plants will provide electricity for 1.8 million homes-- four times the output of the aging Davis-Besse nuclear power station. The meeting to discuss the 900-million dollar project runs 5 to 7 p.m. at the Oregon city building.
