Secretary of State on Jon Husted Suspends Member of Lucas County Board of Elections

TOLEDO, Ohio - Ohio's Secretary of State Jon Husted has suspended a member of the Lucas County Board of Elections. 

Husted says he suspended Republican member James Harltey after he refused a request to turn over copies of electronic communications from a meeting on March 5. 

"Your failure to respond to my letter is just the latest example of an emerging pattern of irresponsible behavior," Husted said in a letter to Hartley.

Husted also raised the nomination of Anson Bowe for board director, saying that Mr. Bowe was not qualified for the position.
