CLEVELAND, Ohio - The University of Toledo women's basketball has punched their ticket to the Big Dance.
The Rocket women downed Northern Illinois 82-71 this morning at Quicken Loans Arena. Mikaela Boyd lead all scorers with a career-high 27 points and 14 rebounds. Sophomore Olivia Cunningham added 20 points off the bench.
The game remained close for most of the contest. It was tied at the half and the Huskies held a one-point lead at the end of the third quarter. But midway through the fourth, the Rockets went on a 10-0 run to seal the game.
The Rockets will make their first trip to the NCAA Tournament since 2001. It is the eighth time the Rockets have won the MAC tournament.
The team will find out when and where they will play Monday night when the brackets are released.
