(Toledo, OH) Toledo firefighters remain on the scene of a burning lithium plant. Crews have been battling heavy smoke and flames at Lithium Innovations on Campbell Street since Thursday afternoon.
The fire was releasing toxic lithium gas into the air, forcing evacuations of a five-block area around the plant. But more than 100 people evacuated were allowed to return to their homes overnight.
Firefighters are pouring water on the blaze from ladder trucks to control the fire and will let it burn itself out after flying a drone over the fire scene to evaluate the situation.
