Kroger Continues to Push Superstore Plans

(Toledo, OH) Kroger officials continue their push for a new Toledo location.

The supermarket chain had representatives at its Monroe Street store Tuesday, talking to customers about plans to build a new store on Secor Road.  Kroger is trying to drum up public support for the new store before asking Toledo City Council to rezone the Sisters of Notre Dame property later this month.

The plan has met opposition over its impact on neighboring homes, heavy traffic at Secor and Monroe, and the potential loss of numerous trees and greenspace. The $26 million  superstore would be built on 18-and-a-half acres if approved.
