Ohio Highway Patrol Urging Caution After Increase In Traffic Fatalities

TOLEDO, Ohio - After an increase in fatal traffic crashes over this time last year, the Ohio State Highway Patrol is urging motorists to drive carefully.

Troopers at the Toledo post responded to three separate fatal crashes in less than 14 hours on February 22. Since January 1, there have been 10 traffic fatalities in and around the Toledo Metropolitan area. By this time last year, troopers had responded to just three traffic fatalities.

Troopers of the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Toledo Post want to remind everyone to limit distractions in the car, obey traffic laws and take an extra second to check your vehicle for any defects before driving. Always buckle up, no matter how far or long you will be in a vehicle. If you plan on consuming any alcohol, plan ahead to avoid getting behind the wheel of a car.
