Accused Killer Could Face Death Penalty

(Columbus, OH) A convicted sex offender will face a central Ohio judge today, accused of kidnapping and killing a former Anthony Wayne HS tennis player. Franklin County prosecutors plan to seek the death penalty in the case.

Brian Golsby, 29, is charged with aggravated murder, aggravated kidnapping, rape and aggravated robbery. Grove City police say Golsby took 21-year-old Reagan Tokes against her will to a public park last week, and assaulted, then killed her. Her naked body was discovered near the park's entrance.

Tokes, an Ohio State University senior from Monclova Township, had just left work at a Columbus restaurant when detectives say she encountered Golsby. Video evidence shows she was forced to withdraw $60 from a bank ATM. DNA evidence from her car led detectives to the suspect.

Golsby was released from prison in November after serving nearly six years for robbery and attempted rape.

The victim's friends are offering tributes to her memory. A candlelight vigil was held last night at the Bodega Cafe, where Tokes was working the night of her murder. Employees shared their feelings and vowed to keep each other safe. Tokes' friends have launched a GoFundMe page to create a scholarship fund in her name. It has so far raised nearly $40,000.
