(Toledo, OH) Toledo city council has reconsidered a vote on a proposed deer cull in Swan Creek Metropark-- after the legislation was revised to include a sign-off by the city public safety director.
This time, council gave its permission 8 to 4, over the continued objections of councilman Rob Ludeman. The Republican councilman who lives near the Metropark wants the agency to hold public input meetings and consider other ways to control the deer population.
But council member Lindsay Webb counters the deer pose a safety hazard when they run into traffic because there’s an overpopulation in a residential area
