City Council Members to Propose More CDBG Spending

(Toledo, OH)  After being reminded by colleagues that the city is not a bank last week, four city council members will propose more spending today. 

Mayor Set to Veto Spending Surplus Funds

Council members Yvonne Harper, Gary Johnson, Nick Komives, and Tyrone Riley will propose the city divide $245,000 among Grace Community Center, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northwest Ohio, Sofia Quintero Art and Cultural Center, and Center of Hope at Tuesdays agenda review meeting. 

City Accepts Pizza Chain's Road Repair Donation

The request comes a week after Councilman Larry Sykes proposed splitting $200,000 in CDBG funds. 

Budget Battle Looming Between Council, Mayor

That request passed on an 8-4 vote last week, though Mayor Wade Kapszukiewicz said he’d consider vetoing the spending in a push to curb expenditures.
