(Perrysburg, OH) The Lucas County Sheriff's Office will continue to investigate the Perrysburg police response to a chase and deadly shooting.
Perrysburg Mayor Tom Mackin resisted calls yesterday to have state investigators probe the August shooting, saying he'll get a more reliable, thorough and timely report from the sheriff.
Perrysburg Mayor Launches Police Department Probe
At issue is whether Lucas County Sheriff John Tharp can be impartial with his brother-in-law, Tim McCarthy, sitting on Perrysburg City Council.
Sheriff Tharp says that McCarthy's position on the council has nothing to do with what his agency does.
